Since 1907, the Mission Viejo News Group has been bringing Orange County family friendly news, local business updates, and legal notices.
Our Story
The Mission Viejo News bought the Leisure World Voice in 2000 and joined the small chain of newspapers. Although not yet a city, Ladera Ranch News became the area’s only local newspaper and was adjudicated in 2004. That same year San Juan Capistrano News joined the company. The San Clemente News was adjudicated as the official legal newspaper for the city in 2006. In March 1999, Leisure World residents decided to become the City of Laguna Woods and The Leisure World Voice newspaper became the Laguna Woods News.
Orange County’s most highly regarded social column “Society Scene”, which was written by Fran Mulvania, and later by celebrity columnist Lana Chandler, wife of the Los Angeles Times publisher, is currently written by famed society columnist Kelly Bennet and is the most popular society column in Orange County, appearing in 37 Orange County newspapers. .In 2019 celebrated food columnist Frank Mangio “Taste of Wine and Food” joined Orange County newspapers as a regular feature. Orange County Newspapers and orangecountynewspapers.com is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Mission Viejo News,Inc.
Our Story
As new communities began to form, Orange County newspapers continued to increase. In 1993 as the area began to form, the Coto de Caza newspaper began to publish. In 1995 The Mission Viejo News was adjudicated, and publishes more fictitious business name and legal notices than any other Orange County newspaper.
